Hello 2015

Not only is this post a tad bit cliche, but it's super late as well. Oops. None the less, 2015 is going to be a big year. This is the first time I've really felt for a year to be, well, "my year". My boyfriend is graduating this May, I have an incredible summer internship planned, I'm turning 21 in July, then graduating college in December and then my boyfriend and I may be moving to the Caribbean (can I get a heck yeah)! Time is flying by, and yet it feels like just yesterday I was moving off to college. Now with all these big, scratch that, HUGE, moments ahead, I figured why not go ahead and dedicate my first blog post to the good ole "new year, new me" mantra.

[School]

Stay organized- Not only does this mean writing all assignments/test in my Erin Condren planner. But it means actually using it! Last semester, I got totally off track and found myself last minute cramming for papers because I didn't look ahead into my planner. Totally not going to happen this year!

Get my GPA up- This one is pretty self-explanatory... Study, study, study!

Attend every class- Of course, I have the dreaded 8AM that doesn't even take attendance. But I won't let that stop me. It just takes a few times of missing class to fall completely behind. If I attended every single one of my classes this semester, I'm going to reward myself with some much needed retail therapy.

Ask for help- I find myself if I do need to ask for help, it is already too late. I want to make an effort to get to know my instructors, ask questions during class or even by being involved in lecture discussions. This little effort may make the difference between making an A instead of B (this has happened more times that I care to admit.. darn you 89!)

[Personal]

Focus on my health- I'm not gonna lie here. I haven't been treating my body they way I should and it shows. I'm going to work out 6x a week (Tuesday are my rest days because I'm literally in class from 8am-8pm, no joke). Along with eating healthy, I plan to get in the best shape of my life this year.

Save money- This is a big one! Since I will be graduating in December (and possibly be moving to the Caribbean as well), I want to save as much money as humanly possibly. I'm thankful that my parents help with my tuition, rent and bills and along with having a job, I'll be dedicated "fun money" to a savings account and finding free ways to have fun (hello, free opportunity to workout at the rec center!)

Work on my relationship with Christ- This one is probably my biggest task. I really want to make it an effort to pray every day, study and learn more about the Bible and attend church. My boyfriend got me a devotional for Christmas that I absolutely have been loving so far!

[Blogging]

Start a blog- Well, I've already knocked this one out! I can't wait to use this blog throughout the years as an outlet as well as sorta of a memory book to look back a reflect on my life. Who knows what'll happen!

Don't be afraid to write- I think has been my biggest setback in starting a blog. I am afraid of judgmental remarks from others but it took me a while to realize that it shouldn't matter! This blog is for solely myself and it shouldn't matter what others think about what I write, whatever it may be!

It looks like that's a wrap on my very first blog post! I hope you enjoyed reading and I can't wait to look back at this next year, impressed with myself because I accomplished everything! Happy New Year!

XO,
Ashlee
